Kumho hooks were established in 1979 in Busan, Korea. Kumho quickly became the largest hook supplier to the Korean sport fishing market. Their specialty remains needlepoint hooks. Kumho’s needlepoint hooks are made with proprietary “PowerPoint” technology that ensures an incredibly strong hook as well as a super sharp point.

Kumho USA was established in the US to bring Kumho’s superior hooks to the American market and to innovate new products specifically for the Bass fishing market. Bass fishing legend Gary Klein was hired to oversee all new product development. Gary is well known for new product development, especially in the area of terminal tackle and hooks in particular. With the addition of Marty Stone, Jared Lintner, Brandon Palaniuk and Jeff Kriet, Kumho USA has one of the best pro staff’s in fishing.

Kumho USA was introduced to the American Hook market this past July at ICAST. The introduction of the new patented Reaper Keeper hooks has been a huge success. The Reaper Keeper holds plastic in place on the hook and does less damage to the bait than any keeper ever invented. Stay tuned to see what is coming next.
